How do you clean feathers?

I've been collecting my guineas' feathers cuz my niece wants to decorate a wreath with them. What's a good way to clean all the wood shavings, etc. off them without damaging them? (I don't pick up the really filthy ones.)
I thought about sewing them into a pillow case and washing them, but the stuff would stay in the pillowcase also.
Needless to say, I want to do this the lazy person's way.

I wash some in soapy water genitally by hand then laid them flat

Woolite works best, I've found. If they get a little mussed just reshape them with your fingers when you lay them out to dry.
