So yesterday I was talking to my boss and I told her, "if I had known about chicken math I would have built a bigger coop." She then looked at me and was like.... "what the heck is chicken math?!?!?!?!"
I tried to explain the concept of chicken math but she just smiled nicely at me.

So how would you explain chicken math? I know everyone here knows and understand what it is but can you explain it to someone that doesn't understand it?

It's the collecting and hoarding of chickens until you crash and burn from too many chickens. :)
Agreed, but i think including successfuly achieving the “collecting and hoarding”, whilst keeping it quiet from ones’ spouse should be included in that definition :D

I force my husband to participate in my chicken collection. I could not hide 99 chickens. :) You are much better than me if you can keep yours secret. :bow

I couldn’t afford the therapy to involve DW with chickens - she is literally scared silly of them :lau maybe that’s why i used to get away with it :D

Ah yes, chicken math...

I always say that it's not about the number of individual chickens I have, it's all one FLOCK. The flock numbers always fluctuate a bit...it's normal...right...right?!? (Admittedly, I actually have two flocks now...) lol

This is what I tell people who look at meet like I'm crazy when I casually mention that I'm ordering more chicks, have more eggs in the incubator, or that I found the perfect little frizzle that I've been looking for oh so long...

I'm just obsessed and can't resist more chickens. Once you have one, you can actually have several without the work load increasing. It all makes perfect, justifiable sense...
:highfive:

Well basically you carry the feather ×2 subtract 5 and add 1 but you can't add just 1 it will be lonely so add 2 more.

And that's chicken math.

Love it all of this!!!

My version of chicken math was.... I only have 4 but that's because I don't know how to count chickens after four (now have 11.)

I don't know what happened... they just exploded! I even got 3 more because one of the girls looked lonely! I really got crazy looks for that excuse! :th
