How do you feed oatmeal?

I fed my chickens some quaker oats today, I fed it out of my hand, one of the hens was pecking my hand like crazy just trying to eat the oats.. next time I'll just throw it on the ground as scratch or just mix it in with their regular feed

My dad witnessed me jumping up in pain, and turning red. All he said was; (HAHAHAHAH) 'you learned your lesson'

I give mine some dry rolled oats everyday, scatter a few handfuls for them to scratch up. I bought a 50lb bag at the feed store, a MUCH better deal than using 'people' rolled oats at the grocery store.
