How do you figure out %

Its been many many years since I took a math class and for the life of me I can not remmber how to get % 's
So could someone help me figure out how to get it . I would like to be able to figure out my hatch %'s . Like I had 13 of 14 eggs in lock down hatch whats that % and I had 13 of 17 total eggs set that would be what % . That kind of thing THanks

(number of eggs hatched / number of eggs total) * 100 = hatch rate percentage

That should probly make sense but it does not as I cant for the life of me figure out what 13/17 = or 13/14 =

(13/14) * 100 = 93%

(13/17) * 100 = 76%

so 0.76 would be 76%

for someone that was at college level in some things in grade school I shure feel like I am loseing brain cells at an alarming rate every decade.
