i see that some peoples avatar moves how do you do that

They're in .gif format. It's a series of pics that are then collected together in photoshop or another picture program and put into .gif format. It's an animation like the way The Nightmare Before Christmas was done. Stop motion. That's the phrase I'm looking for...

I think people use giff files. I have no idea how to make one. Passing this on -

PS. I get mine to move by walking out the back door; they all come running...

Seriously, you can up/download .gif files from all over. But I personally don't care for the moving and/or flashing avatars or sig lines - too distracting and hard on the eyes.
