How do you know which chickens are laying?????

Yes. Like a whole hour, AFTER she had been on the box for a while, to get that pic!!!
 
We have 4 RSL's. I figured out by their comb and wattle size and color, and their "squatting" who were laying the first eggs. But with egg number 3 appearing, the one I assumed it was laying- wasnt the one we'd see in the nest box.
I think the only way to really know is to ask them.. But for some reason, even though its a good thing, none of them want to own up to it.
As for color- it varies from a nice semi-dark brown to a pale brown.

and OWWWW to the egg laying pics.. poor hens have to go thru that every DAY....
