how do you make splash SILKIE BREEDERS please comment

I have all white silkies,and was thinking of running say 2 girls with a black show roo ,will this give me splash,or some black and some white thanks for the input and advice

black and white does not = splash. in order to get a splash you'll need to breed two blues together. a splash is a bird with two blue genes, while a blue has only one gene.

The only way to get a splash to breed 2 blues together. Then you only have a 25% chance to get a splash.

Breeding black to white can be tricky depending on the type of white. White is not a color but a lack of color. As a result, when you breed to a black or other color, the offspring can be unexpected colorations because of what may be hiding(genetically) under the white.
