I've never really liked chickens/roosters.
But recently there was this handsome rooster downstairs; he belongs to a family in my apartment building, and i really think they're cool now.

The problem is that i don't think he likes me: He pecks me gently, sometimes hard, when i pet him.
I normally wouldn't mind this- but my dad handles him basically the same way i do, but he likes it! and doesn't peck at him:(
I sorta feel this weird jealousy

So where do roosters like to be stroked? Thanks :)) <3 (i'm 13 btw)

Sometimes a peck can be a way of saying "I like that" my chickens will gently peck my toes when I wear flip flops in the coop. The way we pet our rooster is by gently stroking his back. The one other thing I might mention is sometimes an animal can sense fear or if you hesitate, then they may be a little more skittish. So even though the rooster may appear to "like" your dad more, it may be because your dad feels more comfortable around the rooster. Just try to relax and give him gentle strokes on the back, he may just come around.

Also if the rooster is pecking hard, just let him be for a couple of days before petting him again. Some chickens can draw blood with a peck. Hope this helps :)
