How do you serve treats?

Hi! So, the first time I gave my hens scraps I put them on a dish. When I came back an hour or two later, the left overs were on the ground and the dish was covered in poop.

Since then I've just dumped the scraps on the ground on the run. However, I keep seeing pics of chickens eating treats out of dishes, so I'm wondering what you serve your girls their treats in? I know it's not a huge deal in the grand scheme of things, but I'm new to this and would love input! Thanks!

I toss them in in an ice cream pail

I either hand feed them or toss it on the ground in separate places so all the birds can eat without getting pecked.
