I have 3 chicks that hatched Sunday. How do I tame them to the point of following me and coming to me? They are Cochin Bantams, 3 days old. I really don't know what else to add!

handle them often so they get used to you.
patiently wait for them to come to your hand while you feed them.
if they avoid you in the brooder, they won't follow you outside it

I hold them often, and talk to them gently. I hold them maybe 2-3 times a day for 10 minutes each. I have also heard of keeping their brooder on a table so you are more level with them, rather than swooping in like a hawk attacking prey.

I just hand fed them. They all came up on my hand and ate. They would scratch around on my hand. I love the way their beak feels on my hand! I will start holding them for more than a couple of minutes. My last set of chicks are sweet. I held them, talked to them when I walked by, and just played with them. They don't follow me, but don't get frightened and run away. I hope these will be tame. I can only keep pullets. I can only keep 1, maybe 2.

I trained mine as they got bigger to come to me with food. I started off with meal worms and would shake the bag. They all come flying and clucking when they see the bag and will fallow us around.

I usually handle every once in awhile, but occasionally I handle them more frequently.

One my peeps is very friendly, & she's also very brave. Also she flies up onto my arm, or shoulder occasionally.

I had 3 last year. In the evenings, I would move the brooder from the living room to the foyer, where it's darker and quieter. Then, I would let them snuggle on me until they fell asleep, then gently put them back in the brooder. They'd stumble under the heating plate, and make soft peeps while I whispered good night. I think that really made them into lap chickens. They still run right over to me when I go out, settle on my lap, and fall asleep.
