How do you tell if chicken died of bird flu?

We have had a few younger chickens found dead in the chicken coop with no signs of illness or injury. They seem fine all day and then we’re just laying on the floor of the coop in the morning. Wonderful if they have bird flu? How do you prevent others from getting sick if so? Other possible causes?

A vet can take blood samples to check, or you could get a necropsy done on your deceased bird at one of these labs. Keep it refrigerated, not frozen while waiting for instructions from them.

If indeed your chicken had bird flu, that's infectious so watch your other birds closely.

I'm sorry for your loss.
