How do your birds sleep?

I just noticed that our new peeps sleep with their heads tucked under their wings. Our current flock didn't do that when they were babies...or as adults as far as I know. Never seen them do it. Do yours? Just wondering. I know my parrot used to do that but not sure about chickens.

None of my chicks have ever done that. I've seen my adult frizzle do it a few times when she was sleeping on top of eggs, but none of my others have ever done it. Do you have pictures of yours doing it? They must be cute.

Some tuck their heads when they sleep and just some pull their head in and fluff up. In a brooder I have seen chicks just fall and stretch out to sleep. I have a few that sleep standing up with their heads tucked or not. Not sure how they manage that.

That.

Chicks are more interesting in their sleeping ways though. When they are very young they often fall asleep while still standing, or however they just happen to fall over!

That is EXACTLY what I was thinking!!

I'm pretty sure that my rooster, Red, almost never sleeps with his eyes closed. He's a watchful one that boy. ONCE in a while he does go into a deep sleep though, and I can come into the coop before he wakes up,
but 99% of the time I can count on him being awake while the others are "snoring"

When he does his deep sleep his head just kinda hangs in front of him, he doesn't tuck in or even scrunch up his neck. He definitely sleeps like a MALE (sprawl out, let body parts drape everywhere - take up as much room as possible...)
