New to backyard chickens and backyardchickens.com! Grew up in suburbia, but my fiance and I are slowly moving as far away from the concrete jungle as we can get.... ;) This is our second house, and finally enough space to get some feather babies, so for my 30th birthday all i asked for was chickens! So fiance ordered me my flock of 5 day olds (red sex links), some supplies and the promise to get a coop together! I had no idea how much there was to learn about raising chicks, building a coop, and keeping chickens, I dont know what i would have done without this site! I have learned everything i know from reading here!

The girls are now 7weeks old and just moved in to their converted shed and i am loving it! We have a 1 year old Boxer who is our world and he just adores "his girls" and they adore him! I am a Project Manager by day and in our "spare time" (Ha! What is that?) we are busy renovating this house to flip it next year, all the while planning our wedding for next spring! Also took fiance's recent job loss as the opportunity to start our renovation/custom wood furniture business. Chickens have added to the chaos that i love so much! 20170623_135934.jpg 20170623_145713.jpg 20170623_145740.jpg 20170623_145809.jpg 20170623_145927.jpg 20170626_155009.jpg IMG-20170623-WA0023.jpg

I've had boxers for 20 plus years now. I don't think we can live with out one or 3 at all times!
They truly are great dogs.

Kiki hope your chickens didn't read you response, when you said Boxers were better than chickens. They may decide you can lay your own eggs :plbb
