How does it work out-ordering a certain # of Roos and Pullets*Hatchery

If I order 10 pullets of on breed, and then 5 roos of another breed.. How does the hatchery do that? Do they hatch a large # when you place your order they can fill just what you want?

I think you order what they 'have available' what the are currently hatching. You'll get a date from them according to when those eggs are ready to hatch, and not when you want them.

Also, Sexing isn't guarenteed... just because you want all pullets or so many roos... chances are you'll get extra roos, or extra pullets in each order.

Hatcheries hatch lots of eggs, and fill your order with those. All the extras are then "disposed" of.

Most hatcheries will have what you order available, the hatcheries gauranatee 90% sexing, I ordered the 25 pullet pack, and did wind up with one roo.

They usually hatch more than what is ordered, and the extras they try to put in thier hatchery choice selections.
