when starting grower feed, how early is to early to start the feed, they say 6 to 8 weeks, but can I start it at 5 weeks I am almost out of starter feed, and I don't want to buy another bag of starter pellets, to use them only for a week, so could I start it at 5 weeks, what do you BYCer's think?

We used a start&grow feed, which the birds were on until they went to layer.

I'm not sure what the difference is in the two, But I think you should be okay to change a couple weeks earlier. I would suggest you mix the end of the starter with the grower for the end of the starter feed. I think the birds notice the change less.

Go ahead and start them when you need to get the new bag. They will be fine.
