How exactly do you take a fecal sample?

For future references I would like to know. Do you just scrape it off the ground? How do you do it?

scoop up several bits from several piles, the fresher the better! Unless u are collecting one from just one bird then I guess u would have to watch that particular one and scoop up just those piles. But don't bring in a whole bag full..not necessary. I use a ziplock bag, make it inside out and pick pieces up like a glove, invert and close. No sterile collection process or anything like that. Any container you want.
