How far from the hens does the bachelor flock need to be?

My bachelors get along well but are driving my hens crazy. They were all hatched together, and now the boys are big enough to have their own space. The one question I can’t find the answer to is how far away from my hens do my bachelors need to be?

I can easily block the hens from sight. But is it OK if they hear the hens?

I love my boys. They are goofy and crack me up and follow me like big feathery dogs.

I've always been told to just keep them out of sight (100% out of sight at all times) and all will be fine Now, I don't have a rooster bachelor flock, but many people have great success with this.

Not multiple roosters, but recently I kept a rooster out of sight for several weeks. Both the hens and the rooster could hear each other, but they totally ignored it. Last week I let the rooster out of his set up, and locked the gate shut. Then I went down around a hill and let the girls out.

Both sets seemed totally surprised with the other birds. So I think out of sight will be fine.
