How far he has come :)

This is turtle on the day he was hatched..



The one in the back




He was attacked by his mother (the one that hatched him) And thrown out of the nest. He originally didn't have a name, but his buddy Turtle who was also injured and thrown out of the nest, died of cocci. So I named him Turtle in his buddies Honor.




Slowly his friends dwindled. Some got to be with another broody, some died (Sparta Drown, and Spot had a heart attack).
He got put with a broody (were his friends went) but he was a lot slower than the rest, so he got put inside for a couple weeks. Then he was allowed out in the coop again. But he didn't want to be there. He would run after me when I wet back to the house or try to follow me when I left the coop and they were supposed to free range yet. So got brought inside again....


He made some new friends, and they insist on following him around (That is his butt in the corner)


Here he is at 4 weeks old


But because of this traumatic experience he will always look worried.. Taken Today at 6 weeks old.

Oh, that nearly made me cry. Poor little thing, being picked on like that by his Mum. Chickens are horrible sometimes. And he looks so sad and worried in that photo. So glad he has new little friends. Before you know it he will be a big and cocky roo!

Poor little guy. He's had such a rough time, hasn't he? Good thing he has you to look after him.
