How having chickens brings out our nesting brain paths

So aside from chicks being adorable and there being so many breeds to choose from and egg colors, I have a quick reflection and observation.

In getting ready for spring I am looking at breed lists, arrival calendars,
and checking them twice.

I am calculating and recalculating my sq ft in run and coop, recalculating. planning to add run roost bars and roost tree in run to max spac, planning to do this and improve that.

Reflecting on how my brain is feeling while doing this and it’s a lot like nesting for pregnancy. Bordering on abit obsessive a times. Super similar.

Just interested in your thoughts!!

Oh heck yes! My hubby is having surg. On Feb 1st so I didn't think about any chicks. WELLL my hubby came up with an easy way make a grow out coop and run I'VE BEEN OBSESSING SINCE! Chicken math is real warning watch out for stores that have chicks!!!!

totally agree.

I have what I refer to as "lady brain" when I get chicks. don't drag me for the name, I mean it with positive connotation.

im constantly checking on them, doing coop research, cleaning the smallest amount of pasty butt.

my partner gets a little annoyed about the attention I give to them but....I don't care. it's a lesson in selflessness he needs to learn anyway.
