Since I want to get a heritage turkey and I'm so protective of my birds that I don't let them out unless I am home I am going to have to rebuild my turkey cage. I currently have an eight foot by eight foot cage with a small house it is only about 4 feet high, maybe a little more. I want to rebuild and go 8x8 and between 6 and 8 feet high and build a bigger house then what I have. Since I am going to go higher I was thinking of putting a roost outside and one inside. How high should they be?

I like my roost up high enough so dogs can't reach it! also the higher they are the easyer to clean! its all up to you, I know when I'am on my roost I like to be just as high as I can! tom!!!!

as high as possible. My turkey pens are 25 x 50 each with a 12 foot tall center, my roost are 8 feet up on thise center pole ans do just fine. Just go as high as you have the ability to go
