$2 ice chest (Walmart)
$11 fan (Walmart)
$4 AC vents (Ace Hardware)

Filled with frozen 2 liter soda bottles of water.
Works great and the chickens love it

Swamp Cooler!!

Great for the desert...not so much for humid climates once the ice runs out.

But you would want to make sure you aren't putting CO2 gas into an enclosed area with limited ventilation.

Amen TalkALittle, oxygen levels are already low in hot weather.

And the dry ice is a good concept LeiaLayers5, but I think it runs about 7.00 a pound.

If CityCAChicken has a chest freezer, they can probably keep 4 to 8 two liter bottles freezing while the bottles in the cooler are thawing, I keep additional jugs of water stored in the rear of our refrigerator to help maintain the cold while the door is in constant use.

I put two 2 liters in the ice chest. 2 I. The freezer in the house so I have 4 total. I then rotate 2 in the unit/2 in freezer so I always have 2 cold :)

Next idea I had:
Take a cupcake pan, put wate/corn in it. Freze the pan.

The chickens will peck the ice to get the corn out.

I use the cupcake corn too. Great idea! I also put two large pig-pans under my two A/C drip lines to collect the cool water. The pans are large enough for the girls to stand in and cool their feet. In addition, I keep a couple of water bottles frozen at all times and put one in their drinking water when they're in the coop. These Texas summers are brutal on all of us! I hose down my horses when it's close to or over 100 degrees. The dogs & cat are all inside with the A/C
