how is it possible to keep their water clean?

ok, i put there water up high and they sill manage to get stuff in it! and dust builds on the thing to and it goes in the water and ends up all grody.... so what do u do to keep it clean?

i made a stand by using 2 x 4's on the side then stapled wire to it works like a dream
