How long after 21 days?

I was wondering how long do you keep the eggs in the incubator after 21 days?

On day 21 if I don't see any peeps pecking out, I candle my eggs to see if the chicks are alive, if so let them set anotherday. Sometimes when the temp is a degree or so low the time until hatch will backup a day or so, but this rarely is the case. I would candle the eggs and see whats going on inside. Goodluck!

21 is the 80% hatch then kind of date. The wee boogers don't have timers in their heads. I've had 19 day hatchers and 25 day hatchers. Let em alone til tonight, then candle. Then behave yourself til tomorrow. Some of my best hatches happened when I mismarked them and treated them the same every day of the hatch. So not to worry too much. Hang in there.

I had a chick hatch on day 23 with my last batch. If your incubator is a degree or so cooler in a certain area it could take a day or so longer for them to hatch. I always wait til day 24 to call it quits.
