How long after hens start to lay do you take the eggs for incubator? 1 month 2 months???????

My Basque chickens have just started to lay eggs Got my 1st one today.

We want to incubate their eggs but I do not know how long to wait before we gather their eggs to put in the incubator?

Can someone please tell me the rule of thumb re pullet eggs to put in incubator?

Do we wait a month 2 months or ? I know the eggs have to be bigger than they are now with first eggs but am not sure how big or how long to wait. Sure don't want to incubate eggs and have the chick bigger than the egg shell its in.

I would wait until the eggs are full size for your bird (regarding bantam or not) And then I usually wait for the first five eggs and then collect to incubate. It has worked pretty well for me!

Ok. So I wait till the eggs are full size and then let them lay 5 more eggs and then collect.
