How long after peeping before chick is out of egg?

I have a chick that started peeping in the egg tonight. How long does it take for the chick to come out? This is my first time hatching eggs. I'm sitting on pins and needles waiting for the chick to arrive. Should I stay up and wait for it to hatch?

Some can take up to 24 hours a believe - it's is nerve wracking ,the waiting - do you see a pip in the shell ?

I don't see anything yet. Earlier today the egg was wiggling all over the place which was exciting so I just have to sit and wait.
