I have seperated some different hens and roosters, I am wanting to make somedifferent crosses and incubate some eggs. I was wondering how long after I seperate the groups will I know that the egges are fertilized by a certain rooster? Thanks

Many breeders wait three weeks an consider it good to go. There have been some cases reported on this forum where eggs were still fertilized by the old rooster after 3-1/2 weeks, so if you want to be really certain, wait four weeks.

I have done the same thing several times and found that four weeks is the only way to be sure

I have also just separated a rooster and his 2 girls, I will probably wait around 3 weeks before I collect any eggs to incubate, just to make sure.
