Hi there, I'm new to the forum.

Our Silkie hen has just started laying her first eggs. As of last night she had four eggs! Her and the rooster are housed together so I'm hoping they're fertile. Anyone have any idea how many eggs she will lay before she decides to incubate them? I'm so excited!

There is no set number and no guarentee that she will go broody after laying a clutch of eggs. But if she does go broody I would only let her have 5 or 6 eggs. That way they will have a better chance of being covered and hatching.
