How long before.

Did a search and can't find anything on it...

So if I breed say a RIR with a RIR and I will get a RIR chick but how if I cross say a RIR with a Delaware how long before I will get a Delaware chick???

You wouldn't ever get a deleware chick from a RIRXDelaware cross. RIR X Delaware = mutt (possibly red sex link? can't remember if delawares create sex links - lol) anyway RIRXRIR = RIR Delaware X Delaware = Delaware and any cross like an RIR X Delaware will be a mutt - you'd never get a pure chicken out of a cross like that unless you rebred offspring for many many many generations back to the desired result - usually you would only do this when trying to enter new genetics and colors into a breed like it was believed mille fleur d'uccles were bred to the bantam cochins to introduce the first mille fleur color into american cochins once upon a long time ago
