I lead groups on the Camino Santiago each year, and next season in May, I will be gone for 4 weeks.
I will depend on a roommate to care for my chickens.
I KNOW he isn't going to want to go out there morning AND evening to feed.
And I worry he could occasionally forget.
Are there steps I can take NOW to be sure the chooks will be ok while I'm gone?
Is there a feeder that will provide food when they want it that will also keep out rats?
I have two large water containers, so that won't be an issue. I'm more concerned about feeding.
Right now, they're used to getting fed morning and evening.
Ideas?
