Hello everyone,
Its my first year raising meat birds - we have 16 Western Rustics that are 11 weeks old. My husband is stuck away for work and I know recommended butcher age is between 9-12 weeks. I really don't want to do slaughter day without him home so my question is how long can I safely keep these guys alive? Has anyone kept Western Rustics to 15/16 weeks? I only feed them during the day and some of the Roosters are getting quite large but are all still quite active. I don't want to end up with broken legs and heart failure but will keep them alive longer if its safe. Thanks for the advice!!!
