I just seperated my chickens again, I want to incubate lots of little Salmon Faverolles this year and my question is now that I have gotten the Salmon Fav. rooster in with the hens and only him, how long do I have to wait to get a pure stock, meaning they will not be affected by the Ameraucana rooster's sperm.

At least 10 days, is my understanding. However, personally I usually wait 14 days, sometimes I wait 3 weeks.

Two weeks, probably. Three weeks, even more likely. Four weeks, guaranteed. If you don't mind the possibility of some mixed chicks, I would start collecting eggs after two weeks. If you are selling eggs, I would wait longer.

i got some hens from a friend i had no rooster,i noticed at three weeks the eggs looked fertile i put some in the incubator, they hatched into some beautiful chicks, so some were still fertile at three weeks, no possible way another rooster was around,

I always wait AT LEAST 4 weeks, if not 5. I had the experience of buying eggs from someone who only waited 3 & none of the chicks were pure colors.

Wow, Thanks a bunch. I guess that means I have to wait until the first of April before incubating any eggs.
