How long do silkies lay?

Im thinking about buying a really nice almost 2yr old hen. How long would she lay since she's almost 2.

At two she should lay just fine. From my experience they start to slow after 3 years of age. My two year old hens lay a nice big egg which gives me nice big chicks!

So should I bother with getting her? She has another one thats not quite as filled out but I feel she will.

I recently bought a two year old hen and she is my best layer! She is the only one laying though this storm. I say go for it if she is really nice and will help your program! Take the youg one too LOL!

I was thinking about the young one too...I could always sell her to a child wanting a pet or keep her for show later on.
