How long does a broody hen have to be with chicks until she stops being broody?

I'm going to be watching someone's chicks and we were wondering if I let my broody hen watch the chicks for a will she stop being broody?

How old are the chicks...and how long has your bird been broody?

Usually broodies will only accept very young chicks(1-2 days old) and only after they've been broody for a couple weeks.

Not sure what you are imagining is possible.

They are 1 day old and she just became broody
Was just curious if it was possible

If your hen had been broody for about 3 weeks she would have a good chance at adopting the chicks. It is not likely that she would being she has not been broody long. In order for it to work the chicks need to be a little cool, so they want to go and stay under the mom.
