How long does a chicken stay fertile

My Rooster (Absalom) was killed the other day and I wanted to know how long does the chicken stay fertile? I was going to put them in a incubator in a day or two but if now I will Waite until I get another Rooster.

In my experience hens don't lay many fertile eggs unless they have been serviced by a rooster within 5 days, 10 days at the outside.
