How long does honey last

A friend and fellow BYC member gave me a bottle of honey a year
ago. It's been in my fridge ever since. Is it ok to eat? Thanks.

I wanna start consuming local honey before allergy season hits.

Honey never lasts a year at my house.
But I've safely eaten 8-year old mesquite honey at Mom's....

I've read that honey is the one food that never spoils. It may start to crystalize, but a little bit in the micro straightens that prob out.

i keep my honey till the jar is empty
once its no longer liquid i use a spoon and use it for tea or scoop it out and make a honey garlic marinade for beef

I watched an episode on the Discovery Channel about finding honey in one of the pyramids that was still good so I think Miss_Jayne is right on.

Yep - forever. When it crystalizes we just heat it up to turn it back to liquid. Be careful not to melt the plastic container though!

I will be lucky to get a month out of my jar. Luckily for us we know some honey boys that supply us in return for eggs.
