My chicks are between 5 and 7 weeks old. The oldest one is almost fully feathered, but still shows no sign of a comb growing.

I want to know what gender they are but the chicks refuse to tell me!

P.S. look like ALL girls to me!! Any boy that I have had has started to get pink before or by 4 weeks!!!

What kind of birds are they? Were they sexed at hatch?

They appear to have pea combs, so they will never have the big stereotypical "rooster" comb, or straight comb, even when mature.

Pea comb breeds are slower to show their sex than other breeds. None are screaming boy to me. The biggest does have big feet, but that by itself doesn't guarantee cockerel. If one gets noticeably redder than the others, you may have a boy, but for now, they're still looking girly.

I don't know what kind of birds they are because we found them in the street. A neighbor has chickens that he lets roam free outside, and we found the two biggest chicks lost about 5 weeks ago. Then the smaller one wandered into our fenced backyard a week later. So they are kinda rescue chicks, and I can only guess their age at 5,6, and 7 weeks, but I'm not even sure of that. They are adorable mutts though, and the biggest one is gonna have such pretty colors

.

Edit: also, I think I'm turning into a chicken version of the crazy cat lady. I find myself talking to my chicks and calling them my kids... oh my.
