How long does the average sponge last in an incubator?

Ive heard that sponges are useful to put into an incubator for humidity purposes. And im curious to how good sponges can be. So, how long can your average sponge can last inside an incubator until it dries, if it even can dry. The incubator that im using is the nurture right 360.

Most people add them to the water well so they are sticking out slightly but drawing the water from the well. It increases the wet surface area which in turn increases the humidity.

It would last different amounts of time in different incubators because they are all a bit different in how the air flows and how its ventilated, plus the size of the water wells etc.

Are you thinking you'll need to add one for lock down?

The surface area of the water/sponge is what determines how much evaporation which then contributes to humidity.
