How long is too long?

I just got back from vacation and found my hen sitting on eggs. I don't want anymore chicks, but she's been sitting on them for at least 4 days. At what point is it too late to take them away? When Is the baby chicken to developed?

After four days of incubation, the embryo has started to develop. Basically it's your choice.
