Just wondering........

How many weeks or months of the year is your incubator turned on?????

I have raised ducks and geese for 25 years- But only bought an incubator last year. Since July it has been turned on pretty much continuously. I once turned it off for a week- and the other time was two weeks... So that is 32 out of 35 weeks since owning it.

Are you assuming that some of us turn them off?

MIne has been on since before Xmas? It will continue to be on for another 5 weeks-I swore I wasnt hatching anymore after the next batch is done ( due APril 16th) but then I had 2 friends ask me if I would incubate for them-turkey and WC polish eggs) of course I said yes:-) as long as they come the next day and pick them all up! so 5 1/2 -6 months??

usually 3-4 months

I was hoping some people out there dont ever turn them off....will make me feel so much more normal to know others are inflicted with I similar addiction to mine.

Don't have one. After reading BYC for a while, I'm afraid to even look at them. Fear of an addiction, I guess...

My incubators have been on since last April. I just told hubby that as soon as the eggs that are in them hatch, that's it. I'm done for a while. I'm hatched out..

I sometimes run it once or twice in the winter, maybe once in Spring, and then my main time to keep it running is during Summer Vacation!!!!
