How long should shipped eggs sit before being put in the bator?

i keep hearing so many different answers. my eggs arrived at 4:30pm. when should they go in?

Optimum is 24 hours...

I put mine directly in, but that's just me.

I've done that with a lot of eggs, and they've hatched fine. (A hawk killed a couple later in life, but still, they hatched the same!

I generally pick up the eggs first thing in the morning from the post office. After I"ve unwrapped them, I let them sit till evening and then I put them in.
