How long should this take?

I currently have 3 pekins that i need to graduate from our growing pen to their permanent home. Its a 6 x 20 holding pen [parlty in the pond] with a 3x5 duck house. How long do they need to stay penned before i can take the fence away and theyll stay?

pekins? where are they going to go...they love to eat and they dont fly. If they have been raised with you, they would have no reason to leave.

Their simly just moving over to the pond that is probly 20 yards Maybe less from my house. This way when i sit on the deck i can watch them better. Plus theyd have a better life at the pond.

My 7 week old rouens don't wander very far, I would think Pekins would be about the same.

pekins are not very fast...id still worry about predators. unless you dont have any predators...

No predators. This isnt my first rodeo. this is just the first time going this route. can anyone help me and answer the question i started out with.... How long should it take for them to stay?

I'd leave them about a week penned.

Thank u very much. I usually move them out to the pond when their 6 weeks or so old. But the weather here was colder longer this year so i moved them to a pen near the house To keep an eye on them. Now they refuse to go to the pond For more than 15 min.
