Hi i have new born chicks today. How long should I leave them in the brooder. Its 91°f during the day and 75 ish at night. How many weeks pls?

I was using a heater plate. My 5 chicks stopped using it around 3 weeks. But they did use each other's for heat. They turned 5 weeks today so I just took it out last night.
Today is thier 3rd day playing outside.
I sure hope they put themselves to bed tonight. I think caughting them is more stressful on me than them

It's hard to say. Are you worried about the sleep positioning?

If they're only 3 days old, I would suggest keeping them in the brooder and waiting to put them outside. Young chicks are delicate, and it may be more difficult to monitor their health if you have them outdoors.

I used my coop as my borer. They were outside as soon as I got them home. But my coop is built like a little house.
We didn't use the heat lamp so they could have a day and night. I wired it with a plug and a light.
I believe the way they are sleeping is fine. So will want more heat than others.
Do you have the lamp were it only heats one corner

Hi. Thanks for your message. The lamp is in the middle of the brooder but I believe one side is warmer than the other. They tend to sleep like that pic and at times cuddled up on eachother. Then they get up, chirp a little, eat, drink, poop and go back to sleep. That's all they do + my brooder is inside the house :) tks
