how long to leave with desired roo

if I want a roo to be bred with a hen, how long do they have to be separated to insure that THAT roo is the chicks father

If the hen in question has been with other roos, some people say it's a afe bet after about 3 weeks. I like to wait 30 days to be sure. If she has not been with a roo, I think about 5 days should be long enough.
