how long to let broody hen set before assuming the eggs are not going to hatch?

Buff has been sitting on 4 eggs for 21 days - they could be fertile - got rid of rooster a couple of weeks before she started gathering eggs. How long do I let her set before making her give up? She doesn't look good - has only gotten up a few times to poop.

How many weeks ago was the rooster w/ her? There can stay fertile for a while.

Let her sit at least 25 days if you candle tonight & see movement. There are often late babies.
