Our rooster, who was on his death bed from what I am suspecting was wet fowl pox has finally recovered. He's been feeling good for about 5 days now, has got his "voice" back, and is no longer wheezing. He's been eating well for several days, and is very unhappy that he's been separated so long from his ladies! At what point is it safe to reintroduce him to the flock?

It's so good to hear that he is getting better. The main thing that is contagious is the mosquitoes in your area, and the scabs if they are disturbed. If there is any secondary infection, then that would be different. Pox generally lasts 2-3 weeks in a chicken. Vaccines are available for birds who haven't gotten the disease. Here is a link that has some info about infection time: http://www.thepoultrysite.com/diseaseinfo/63/fowl-pox-pox-avian-pox/
