I had a mama 'scovy hatch out 19 babies. I had planned on letting her raise them. She had them out free ranging for about a week. Well for safety reasons I have removed all but 5 of her babies and have them in the house in the brooder. I didn't have the heart to take them all so, I left 5 for her to raise and protect.
Here is my question. I have a great safe cage outside, it is warm enough here, they do not NEED to be in the house.( I can't handle the stink, with poults, chicks and ducklings in here no matter how much I clean it smells like a coop). So I want to put them outside but I want to wait until the mother has forgotten about them.
How long will it be before she will stop answering their peeps?
