How long will chickens brood?

We have one that has been "setting" for a couple of weeks. We were wondering if we should try to "set" the 1st hen with fertile eggs? Will she "hang in there" until she gets some chicks? What should we do to break her from brooding? We have 2 more beginning to brood, so your answers will help us know how to handle them too.

Sorry no one has responded - that knows! LOL I don't believe that you can "break" a chicken from going broody - it is a natural instinct. Not having a roo, I'm not concerned with broodiness. I'm sure that someone who has experience will share their wisdom. Oh BTW
