How long will it take for a chick to hatch?

So I am on the last day of egg incubation and the egg has a hole but it has been the same since about 10:00am and its 12pm now do I have to do anything or is this natural and when do I have to step in and help it out? It has been chirping to

Don't help yet. Is the egg on day 21? I'd give it two more days to hatch.

Helping often does a lot more harm than good and you can end up really damaging the chick inside the egg. I agree that you should give it a few days to hatch on its own. It takes a while for an egg to hatch.
