I have got a terrible headache.I had ordered 3 BB Bronze turkeys, and 3 BB White turkeys. And I also got 2 geese, and 3 Black east Indies.I thought it was the geese.WRONG ,IT WAS THE TURKEYS.I did not know that they were that loud...But they are really cute,Any coment,,Would be appreciated,, Sandra I know that they will pay off one day though.Keeping the predators away

I have one tom turkey with 15 hens on the way. My tom gobbles at any new "thing" person, sound, etc. It does not go on but for a minute or 2 until he figures out there is no danger. Females I am told are not very noisy. I wouldn't call my 1 tom noisy either. He is an excellent hawk deterent for my hens. Since he has lived with me (1 yr.) he hardly ever gobbles much anymore having gotten used to his environment.

Turkey poults can put out a surprisingly loud kee kee cry and do not think for a minute that hen turkeys do not get loud. When they get stirred up they can yelp, putt , cutt and purr as loud as any gobbler can gobble.

Judging from your signature, it seems that you have managed to build your stock up just fine. I couldn't help but notice that one of your black Silkies is "missing" from your signature. I was shocked to hear that you were so willing to trade it after everthing that happened. It just doesn't make any sense to me.

Sorry, I didn't mean to hi-jack the thread. Just something I noticed and felt like I needed to comment on.

Do the poults get quiet when they can see you, and then raise heck if they can't? If it's not the temp., and they imprinted on you, they can be pretty insistent.

so far my turkeys are WAY louder than the chickens when their making their respective noises..

but turkeys sound is much cuter to listen to than that chicken growl!!!

So far I think my turkeys sound like a video game... they've started a couple of new noises lately.. .clicking, buzzing... odd digital sounding sounds...

I hear the wild turkeys in my woods making the same sounds too..
