Honeybun just built a hatcher and we are having a really tough time holding temperature. How low a temp can those babies tolerate and still hatch? 95? 96?97? Our humidity is good, but we are having much too large (in my opinion) a range on the on/off cycle. I get scared of cooking them at over 101. Will they just take longer to pip and hatch if the temps are on the lower side?

Generally you want to stay between 97F and 103F. When temps are lower, it

slows development, and when they are higher it speeds up development. I'm

having troubles with mine to. It's a PAIN.

good luck!

Texas A&M says that an ideal temperature during a hatch is 98.5. I bet everyone will say differently, but because development is over during pipping, I would argue that a degree or two lower than the ideal would be acceptable.
